DIN 8187/ISO 606:2004
Roller chains are classified by DIN standards according to their design. This standardisation ensures that the respective design and construction also corresponds to the purpose of use.
DIN 8187 governs the European series of roller chains. There are further sub-divisions within this standard according to simple, double and triple roller chains. The DIN numbers are also used to catalog the respective dimensions, among other things of the bolt and roller diameter, link height and weight. The chains are pre-stretched with approx. 20-30%.
The admission of ISO 606 into the regulatory body replaces DIN standard 8187 and introduces an international standard.
