Gas springs are sub-divided into push-type and pull-type gas springs.
Gas springs are used if dampers or components without external energy have to be pushed, pulled, lowered or raised with manual force. They are maintenance-free, ready-to-install and available ex-stock.
Push-type gas springs are individually filled to a specific pressure in order to achieve the correct nitrogen filling on the side of the piston rod when the piston rod is pushed in and thus obtain the correct increase in force. The increase in force depends on the ratio of the piston rod diameter to the cylinder diameter and is approximately linear.Pull-type gas springs are always used if push-type gas springs cannot be used due to a lack of space. They are effective in the direction of traction and can be individually adapted to the required pressure.
