Gear couplings

Gear couplings are generally torsionally stiff and positive-fitting. They transmit torque by the interaction of the interlocking outer and inner teeth, with the inner teeth generally being straight and the outer teeth being crowned, which enables axial, radial and angular shaft misalignment to be compensated for.

BoWex®

The BoWex® is a curved-tooth gear coupling, which features a flexible shaft connection for positive torque transmission and compensates for axial, radial and angular shaft misalignment. Based on the well-known principle of curved-tooth couplings, any edge pressure in the spine can be avoided with angular or radial displacement, with the result that these couplings operate almost wear-free.
