Chain wheels

Chain wheels are used in chain drives for the transmission of rotary forces. They work with a fixed or changeable transmission ratio and have a standardised toothing. Chain wheels can have hubs on one side or both sides.

Chain wheels for roller chains conform to DIN 8187 and are available as simple, double of triple chain wheels.

DIN 8187/ISO/R 606

Chain wheels for roller chains are categorised in DIN standards. This ensures that the respective design and construction also corresponding to the purpose of use.

DIN 8187 governs the European series of roller chains. There are further sub-divisions within this standard according to simple, double and triple roller chains. The dimensions of the bolt and roller diameter, link plate height and weight are cataloged by the DIN numbers. The admission of ISO 606 into the regulatory body replaces DIN standard 8187 and introduces an international standard.
